The Roots Method Rituals: Medicine for the Slow Moments
My first collection of hand-blended herbal teas arrives on 1 November. Here's why I made them, and why a cup of tea was never really about the tea.
It started in my kitchen
When my house gets sick, I don't reach for something in a box first. I reach for the jars. Rosehip, rose, clove. The same things the women before me reached for, measured by hand, steeped slowly, and carried to whoever needs them most.
For years I did this quietly. A pot on the hob for my children, a cup for myself at the end of a long day. Standing in my kitchen, measuring and waiting, I noticed something. The making was part of the care. Nobody was rushing me. My breath slowed. My shoulders came down from my ears.
That's when I understood that this belonged in The Roots Method too.
"Care is a practice, not a product."
What The Roots Method Rituals is
The Roots Method Rituals is a small collection of loose leaf herbal teas, blended and packed by hand in small batches. Each blend is made to go with one part of the work I teach: rest, breath, the womb, and coming home to yourself.
Hearth is the first. Rosehip, rose and clove. It's a warming winter cup for slow evenings, sick days on the sofa, and the moments you need something to hold.
In time, three more blends will join it:
- Rest, for evenings and winding down
- Breathe, for heavy days and long exhales
- Womb, for coming back to centre
The ritual inside every pouch
Every pouch comes with a small card and a simple practice:
That's it. It takes less than a minute. But in that minute your body gets a message it rarely hears: you're allowed to slow down now.
I've spent twelve years teaching movement, and the biggest shifts I've seen never came from pushing harder. They came from pausing long enough to feel what was already there. This is that pause, in a cup.
Small batch, on purpose
The first batch is only 30 pouches. I'm making every one myself, in my kitchen, around school runs and classes and life as a solo mum. It's slow, and I want it to be. That's the whole point.
Later, I'll open The Ritual Box, a monthly delivery of blends, a ritual card and a short breath and movement video from me. More on that soon.
